Meet the Team
Hey y'all! I'm Laura. I've been part of the Athens Art & Frame family for five years. I started working here after graduating from Piedmont College with a degree in fine arts. Getting to be around art every day is such a treat. You can usually find me in the production area cutting specialized mats, sewing down jerseys, stretching canvases and generally making your designs a reality! I love my job because I get to be creative while designing and when coming up with the best way to display and preserve unusual art objects. Working with my hands and seeing projects through from start to finish is so satisfying - especially when a customer really loves the final product.
When I'm not at work, you can usually find me painting pet portraits or outside gardening, hiking, biking or paddle boarding with my two dogs Roxie and Harper. I love art, animals and the outdoors! Stop by the shop and say hi, I would love to frame something up for you!
I started at AA&F in early 2016, and I have fallen in love with designing and building relationships with customers here in Athens. I don’t necessarily have an artist’s background, but I come from generations of antique furniture dealers and spent some time in the family business myself. Most of the time I am your first point of contact for custom framing orders, and I spend the majority of my time on the counter or communicating with customers. What’s most fulfilling to me about this job is the friendships I’ve made with customers as they have trusted me with their prized possessions. I also greatly enjoy the variety of artwork and pieces folks have brought in over the years. Outside of work I enjoy spending time reading, listening to and playing classical music on the piano, and taking care of my flock of barred rock chickens, my British shorthair cat, and my precious retired racing greyhound. My wife and I usually have some foster kitties from the shelter around the house too. We love getting involved in the community and volunteering, as well as participating in local elections. I love meeting new customers and seeing photographs and artwork, so I’ll hope to see you soon!
I am your go to source for all your printing needs at Athens Art & Frame. I've been with the company since 2015 and have done a little bit of everything, but found my niche in photo restoration and printing. With my background in graphic design and bachelors in fine art printmaking it was just a natural fit. To me, it is super satisfying to bring old photos back to life or help turn a phone snapshot into a framed artwork. I love seeing everyone's old photos and helping customers preserve their family story.
When I'm not printing away in the photo center you can find me working in the garden with my kitties and my boyfriend. I love anything to do with plants and the moon and the smell of patchouli and lavender.
If you've got old photos lying around or pics you need printed, give me a ring! I would love to help bring your next project to life.
I'm Lewis. I've been with Athens Art & Frame for too long to remember. I do a little bit of everything around the shop but mainly I build all the frames and I keep production moving to make sure orders are done right and done on time. I like working on a different project every day; there's always a new problem to solve and I enjoy coming up with creative solutions.
Outside of work you'll find me gardening, metal detecting or trying out a new way to use all of the wisteria vines growing in my backyard. Come by and see us!
Hey there! I'm Vidaya! I've been at Athens Art and Frame since 2021 and you can most likely find me in the photo center here. I am a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, where I obtained my BFA in animation. I've worked in Photoshop for many years, so naturally photo restoration and editing was something that I naturally took a liking to. It is wonderful to work with photos of families, art and special moments, and connect with our clients about the stories behind them. Usually when I'm not at work, I like to spend my time making art or just generally being creative. I enjoy art of all kinds, both traditional and digitally made, 2D and 3D, and like to dabble in different areas of these art genres. I'm always looking forward to seeing new art or working with photos, so I hope you stop by and chat with us!
Hi, I’m Josie! I joined Athens Art and Frame in 2022 and am so happy to be part of the creative team here. I come from a background in photo editing with a bachelor's in media arts. These days, you can usually find me here at the framing counter. It’s such a privilege to see all the artwork that comes through the door, hear about what makes each piece special, and see a frame design become a reality!I live here in Athens with my best friend and our two kitties. When I’m not at work, you can often find me working on a creative writing project, rummaging through a thrift store, or spending time in the backyard. Hope to see you around the shop soon!
