Canvas Stretching

The correct technique for mounting canvases is to stretch the canvas over wooden stretcher bars and staple to either the side or the back of the wooden stretcher. The canvases are stretched using special pliers and staples. Staples can be applied to the side or the back of the stretcher bars depending on the final desired results. 2” of canvas border is what is needed to get a good tight stretch. At Athens Art and Frame we can custom build any size for any size to accommodate your canvas.
